Alternate Provision Teaching Assistant job summary
Post: Alternate Provision TA
Responsible to: Head of Alternate Provision
Salary: ALT Grade D: £23,308 - £23,893 FTE
Required from: April 2024
The College seeks to appoint an Alternate Provision TA to instruct pupils within the school’s Bridge Provision.
The postholder will promote cultural diversity within the College and instruct pupils accessing alternate provision. The postholder may work with both KS3 and KS4 students instructing them either face to face or via Microsoft Teams. They may work with students who struggle to attend school or who struggle to remain in mainstream lessons. This may be on a 1:1 or small group basis.
The post will appeal to individuals who have a desire and commitment to enhance the lives of those pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties which manifest as both internalising and or externalising behaviour. The post holder will aim to help these pupils achieve the best possible outcomes. This person will need to be willing to undergo training to develop their own understanding and be an excellent communicator and team player. They will have excellent organisational skills, be resilient, firm, flexible and respond to student needs.
