The Marsh Academy is a relatively new school, which is over-subscribed and our new buildings provide high quality facilities for our staff, students and the local community. We have our own Community Leisure Centre and Cinema showing the latest movies, details of both can be found here: www.marshacademy.org.uk.
The workload and wellbeing of all staff is a priority and all staff have free access to the gym and Leisure Centre, free breakfast each day, free lunch every day for completing one half hour duty per week. Teaching staff have more than the standard 10% PPA time and benefit from the Professional Development opportunities afforded by being part of the Challenge Partners Network of Excellence and the newly formed Skinners Academies Trust.
The school sits within the beautiful coastal town of New Romney on the edge of the Romney Marsh walking distance from the beach. Nearby towns of Ashford, Folkestone and the City of Canterbury offer extensive shopping and leisure facilities. Ashford is also home to the International Railway Station offering a 35 minute journey to London and the Eurostar. The Eurotunnel terminal is a 20 minute drive from New Romney and the nearby Port of Dover, giving easy access to Europe. The Romney Marsh is a SSSI famous for its habitats ranging from the shingle expanse of Dungeness to the surrounding farmland and the diversity of the flora, fauna and wildlife.
