About Us: Chiltern Hills Academy is a vibrant and dynamic secondary school committed to providing an excellent education and fostering creativity among our students. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor to support students and families with the reintegration of students.

About the role:

Provide a link between home and school for children signed off sick or suffering from Emotional Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA). This includes the provision and supervision of educational activities missed by the student while not in school.

Support the reintegration of students back to school after a period of absence and liaise with other educational providers delivering education to students from Chiltern Hills Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide focused EBSNA support to help students and families re-engage with school and education.

Conduct welfare visits to students' homes as needed.

Collaborate with parents and teaching staff to create personalised teaching/support plans, which may be implemented at home or via Teams.

Coordinate with teaching staff to determine necessary lessons and ensure delivery of work to students.

Complete DSL training and assist the safeguarding team with the needs of students on your caseload.

Keep a secure log and track support and interventions for each student on your caseload.

Comply with policies and procedures related to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities, security, and confidentiality, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person.

Attend and participate in meetings and appraisals as required.

Chiltern Hills Academy is a Church of England, co-educational secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. There are circa 1025 students on the school roll, approximately 100 of whom study in the sixth form. Chiltern Hills Academy converted to academy status in 2011 and is jointly sponsored by the Diocese of Oxford and Buckinghamshire County Council.

We are situated in the market town of Chesham, Buckinghamshire in the Chiltern Hills, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Situated close to the M40 and the M25, Chesham is on the end of Metropolitan line of the London Underground and is 28 miles north-west of London. There is ample parking on-site. Renting here is cheaper than in central London and if you enjoy travelling, it takes about 40 minutes by car to Heathrow.

The Elgiva Theatre, Lowndes Park and an open-air heated swimming pool are just some of the many public amenities available in the town. Chesham is renowned for its community spirit and there are many recreational and community groups catering for the diverse and active population.
