£27,344 to £30,151 pro rata: actual salary £23,388 to £25,789 (a national pay award is currently being negotiated with workers’ unions and is pending agreement, after which this salary will increase)

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint the right person to lead and develop our alternative provision. This is a small provision which aims to ensure that young people with social and behavioural difficulties are supported to access their education and become positive citizens.

If you believe in giving all young people positive opportunities; understand the barriers young people can face but do not see them as excuses; are able to build and maintain positive relationships; and strongly believe in the power of education to transform lives, this could be the perfect role for you.

You will:

  • have experience of working with young people and/or families, preferably within a school, specialist provision or education environment;
  • be approachable, resilient, calm and level headed;
  • be enthusiastic about giving young people the best possible start in life;
  • be professional, self-motivating and able to demonstrate flexibility in your style of approach;
  • have a caring and patient nature, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • be a team player, and be able to contribute to the shared responsibility ethos of our school;
  • be a positive role model for the students in your care.
