The role will involve delivering some one-to-one or group sessions with the students who are following an alternative curriculum pathway. These may be sessions addressing behavioural, social or emotional issues or they may be bespoke lessons to deliver aspects of the curriculum. We are keen to play to the strengths of the successful candidate so would be interested in hearing about what areas of the curriculum you believe you could deliver as part of your application.

You will have a creative and optimistic approach to re-engaging these young people. You will need boundless energy, a good sense of humour and a strong sense of social justice. You will be accountable, together with the Ambition Coordinator, for the attendance, behaviour and outcomes of the small cohort of students you are working with.

In return for hard work, dedication and commitment to these vulnerable young people you will receive good quality, on-going CPD, excellent support from the Student Support Centre and the Pastoral team and opportunities to develop your own skills in teaching or small group work.

The successful candidate will have some background working or volunteering in schools, youth work, social care or with vulnerable young people in other contexts. They will also have an awareness of safeguarding when working with vulnerable young people.
