What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a Grade 3 Fixed Term Appointment for 18 months, aspiring to progress to an HR Administrator (grade 4) role within the team after succesfully completing the Apprenticeship programme. You will work towards accreditation by achieving the apprenticeship standards, completing all assignments and training.
You will need GCSE English and Maths and to meet the entry requirements for the Level 3 apprenticeship programme.
This role is customer focused, with a particular emphasis on administration, supporting the recruitment process, managing HR data and compliance.
The successful candidate will be based in our central support office on the Piper Hill High School 6th Form site, working closely with the Senior HR Administrator and HR Officer.
What will you be doing as an apprentice?
As an Apprentice HR Administrator you will work under the direction of our Senior HR Administrator and be responsible for a wide range of duties:
- Provide administrative support to HR colleagues and schools with key recruitment tasks including advertising vacancies, coordination of shortlisting packs etc.
- Carry out a range of pre-employment checks to ensure candidates for interview are appropriately qualified and suitable for the role to support safer recruitment in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
- Create and update staff records ensuring accurate information is stored to support HR Officer and reporting

Full training will be provided for this role, we will support you to complete a Level 3 progeamme in HR Support:HR support / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
Your course will include online learning, onsite assessment at work, tutorials and training activities within your role and the completion of a portfolio for assessment. You will be assigned a work-based tutor who will guide and support you to acquire and develop the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours.

At the end of the Fixed Term Appointment and upon successful completion of the apprenticeship there would be the opportunity to be appointed to a permanent post as an HR Administrator.
