We have an exciting opportunity for a new Apprentice ICT Technician to join our Trust

Workplace: Based primarily at Rivington & Blackrod High School, Rivington Lane, Rivington, Bolton BL6 7RU

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Salary: Apprentice minimum wage, according to age and experience

Annual leave: 25 days

Main purpose of the job: To support the provision of a high quality, efficient and customer focused ICT service across the Trust.

You will also work towards your Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Apprentice ICT Technician

Main purpose of the job: To support the provision of a high quality, efficient and customer focused ICT service across the Trust.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Install, setup and maintain Computer hardware, clients, Laptops, Chromebooks, AV equipment and peripherals.
Firstline Technical Support, troubleshooting and re-imaging devices.
Maintain an up-to-date Inventory of ICT equipment using internal Asset Management system, and ensure equipment is tagged and recorded.
Assist with the expansion of the network infrastructure including switches, cabling and wireless network equipment.
Routine administration including, data backup, active directory, group policy, and Office 365.
Software deployment, installation, maintenance and upgrading in line with the development policy.
To keep abreast of technological developments and encourage the use of ICT at all levels, in particular Office 365.
Participate in Online training to completion when required.
To support staff and students with the set-up and preparation of ICT equipment.
Maintain stocks of spare parts and consumable items.
Oversight of bookings of ICT equipment.
In-class support where appropriate.
The apprentice is expected to carry out other duties assigned by their line manager or the academy leadership team.
The duties of this post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed.
The above duties are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake tasks, roles and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned to them by the Leadership Team.
