We have an exciting opportunity for a new Apprentice ICT Technician to join our Trust

Workplace: Based primarily at Rivington & Blackrod High School, Rivington Lane, Rivington, Bolton BL6 7RU

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Salary: Apprentice minimum wage, according to age and experience

Annual leave: 25 days

Main purpose of the job: To support the provision of a high quality, efficient and customer focused ICT service across the Trust.

You will also work towards your Information Communications Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Apprentice ICT Technician

Main purpose of the job: To support the provision of a high quality, efficient and customer focused ICT service across the Trust.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Install, setup and maintain Computer hardware, clients, Laptops, Chromebooks, AV equipment and peripherals.
  • Firstline Technical Support, troubleshooting and re-imaging devices.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Inventory of ICT equipment using internal Asset Management system, and ensure equipment is tagged and recorded.
  • Assist with the expansion of the network infrastructure including switches, cabling and wireless network equipment.
  • Routine administration including, data backup, active directory, group policy, and Office 365.
  • Software deployment, installation, maintenance and upgrading in line with the development policy.
  • To keep abreast of technological developments and encourage the use of ICT at all levels, in particular Office 365.
  • Participate in Online training to completion when required.
  • To support staff and students with the set-up and preparation of ICT equipment.
  • Maintain stocks of spare parts and consumable items.
  • Oversight of bookings of ICT equipment.
  • In-class support where appropriate.
  • The apprentice is expected to carry out other duties assigned by their line manager or the academy leadership team.
  • The duties of this post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or level of responsibility entailed.
  • The above duties are not exhaustive, and the post holder may be required to undertake tasks, roles and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned to them by the Leadership Team.
