What skills and experience we're looking for
Knowledge and Experience
- Working flexibly to meet business needs
- Experience of working in a school environment or working with children/young people
- Previous experience working with children with Special Needs and/or disabilities and/or challenging behaviours
- Experience of working with students in small groups or in 1:1 situations
Skills & Key Criteria
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences
- Ability to use standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality, including following general data protection regulations
- Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues

Sedgefield Community College has a fantastic opportunity for an organised and reliable Apprentice Teaching Assistant that will support the school’s existing SEN department. Our appointed candidate will have a positive work ethic and can-do attitude, and be able to work in a busy school environment.
Our successful candidate will work towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, delivered by Darlington College.
