About the role
Tockwith Church of England Primary Academy has an opportunity for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and supportive team.
We are looking for someone with a passion for working with young children, a desire to learn and to develop a career in this field.
As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant you will be required to support the Class Teacher with the day to day running of the classroom, you may be asked to support a child on a one to one basis or small groups of children. Throughout the Apprenticeship, you are supported to increasingly develop your knowledge and understanding, skills and professional behaviours.
As an Apprentice you will be supported on a 2 year apprenticeship programme and learn both on and off the job in order to achieve a professional L3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.

The job requirements
The successful candidate will have a passion for education and supporting children and whilst experience of working with children is not essential, a basic understanding of childhood development is desirable.
You will be able to communicate well with children, school staff and parents/carers alike.
You will also have the ability to work well within a team and remain calm in the face of challenging behaviour.
You will need to be committed to keeping all our children safe and being a positive role model.
Applicants should have at least four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and maths (or equivalent L2 qualifications) however where applicants do not include English or Maths, support can be provided to achieve the qualification prior to completion of the Apprenticeship.
It is important to note applications from those with an existing L3 qualification as a Teaching Assistant cannot be accepted.
