About us and the role

Are you passionate about supporting creativity and innovation in education? We are seeking a dedicated Design Technology Technician to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will assist in preparing practical lessons, maintaining equipment, and supporting both students and staff in the Design Technology (and Art) departments.

If you are organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about fostering a safe and inspiring learning environment, we would love to hear from you!

What will you do?

  • Prepare materials and setups for practical lessons under supervision.
  • Provide assistance, advice, and practical demonstrations to students and staff.
  • Deliver, retrieve, and safely store equipment and materials used in classrooms.
  • Maintain and repair tools and machinery, and ensure general tidiness in prep rooms and classrooms.
  • Assist with mounting, displaying, and dismantling art and design work for various exhibitions and assessments.

What are we looking for?

  • Educated to GCSE – including in English, mathematics and science
  • Working knowledge of Design Technology machines and processes
  • An ability to work creatively as an individual and as part of a team
  • The ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with pupils and a wide range of adults in and beyond the school
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
