Honley High School has an exciting opportunity for a driven and motivated person to join our team. You will work within the Art, Design and Technology department as a Design & Technology Technician to support the delivery and preparation of Food Technology, Art and Textiles lessons.

The Art, Design & Technology department comprises of nine subject specific teaching spaces and one additional workshop used primarily for KS4 Construction.
Across the department we have a wide variety of tools and machines ranging from sewing machines and heat presses right through to CAD/CAM devices such as the 3D printer and Laser cutter. At a time when many secondary schools have been cutting back on practical based subject areas, the Art Design and Technology Department at Honley High School has still seen year on year investment to support our students in achieving outstanding outcomes.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure that a safe, effective and efficient workshop and classroom technical service is provided for use by students and teaching staff
• Provide technical advice and assistance in the classroom to support students and to assist teaching staff with the provision of learning activities
• Ensure that health and safety, risk assessment requirements and other relevant regulations are in place and adhered to, including the completion and recording of necessary checks
• Be committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all students at all times
• Assist with the maintenance and ordering of materials, stock and equipment required for the practical work
• Be committed to team work within all aspects of the school
• Be proactive in terms of furthering their knowledge and skills
• Be punctual for all commitments
