The successful candidate will not only be able to inspire our students to achieve their full potential but will also be able to develop a student’s appreciation of the importance and enjoyment of Art in its wider context.

The Thomas Aveling School is an 11-19 co-educational non-selective secondary school, serving our community in Rochester. The school is a converter academy (having gained this status in September 2011) previously being a Technology College and Training School. For us, a truly successful education means being the very best that you can be and we are proud of every pupil’s achievements and progress throughout their school years. The school sits in a large expanse of land with playing fields, astro courts and multi-play facilities amongst its resources. We have specialist teaching areas for Science, Design Technology, Art and Sport in addition to our wonderful Performing Arts Centre which includes a full Dance and separate Drama studio. OFSTED – June 2016 said that “Staff morale and relationships within the school are very positive.” And “ Pupils enjoy school, have a positive attitude to learning and behave well” 97% of staff in a recent Staff Survey 2019 said that they are made to feel welcome at Thomas Aveling and that behaviour in the school is good
