What skills and experience we're looking for

Responsible to: Head of Expressive Arts/Art and other delegated teaching staff

Overall function: to support teachers in the classroom

Schedule of Duties:

  • to assist teachers and pupils in the erection of displays of art work
  • to observe health and safety regulations
  • preparation of materials, tools and equipment under the supervision of the teacher
  • maintaining materials and equipment and their storage. The woodwork tools to be maintained by the full-time technology technician
  • preparation of resources for teachers and pupils
  • maintenance of audio-visual equipment books and reference sources
  • preparation of photographic silk-screen, plus cleaning the screens
  • assisting with presentation and display around the school
  • assisting with storage and checking resources
  • assisting with organisation of storage of pupils’ work
  • assisting with liaison with other departments and reprographic resources
  • clearing and cleaning work surfaces and equipment when necessary
  • assisting pupils with design and printing for KS4 and 5, in liaison with teachers
  • organising and ordering capitation in liaison with teachers
  • organising the annual rota for entrance hall

In Addition

  • To organise and order for the art shop
  • Maintaining the photography equipment, booking out
  • Organising KS4 and KS5 work for the moderation process
  • storage of work and returning to students
  • 1:1 working with students
