What skills and experience we're looking for
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the quality of Education: Learning, Teaching, Behaviour and Inclusion in ASPIRE
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Centre.
- Oversee the design and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Oversee the quality of education within the Centre
- Ensure that the centre is compliant with all SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) legislation and school policies.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to staff within the centre.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and well-being of pupils, implementing interventions where needed.
- Promote inclusion across the school and act as a champion for pupils with ASD.
About you:
- The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and experienced teacher (or have QTS) with a strong understanding of efficient and effective ASD and SEND practices.
You will have:
- Proven experience working with pupils with ASD in a secondary school or specialist provision.
- A strong track record of leadership and team management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and frameworks, including EHCPs and IEPs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., SENCO, teaching qualifications, or specialist ASD training) are desirable but not essential.
