What skills and experience we're looking for

Key Responsibilities:

Be responsible for the quality of Education: Learning, Teaching, Behaviour and Inclusion in ASPIRE
Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Centre.
Oversee the design and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Oversee the quality of education within the Centre
Ensure that the centre is compliant with all SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) legislation and school policies.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
Provide training, support, and guidance to staff within the centre.
Monitor and evaluate the progress and well-being of pupils, implementing interventions where needed.
Promote inclusion across the school and act as a champion for pupils with ASD.

About you:

The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and experienced teacher (or have QTS) with a strong understanding of efficient and effective ASD and SEND practices.

You will have:

Proven experience working with pupils with ASD in a secondary school or specialist provision.
A strong track record of leadership and team management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and frameworks, including EHCPs and IEPs.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., SENCO, teaching qualifications, or specialist ASD training) are desirable but not essential.
