What skills and experience we're looking for

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the quality of Education: Learning, Teaching, Behaviour and Inclusion in ASPIRE
  • Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Centre.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Oversee the quality of education within the Centre
  • Ensure that the centre is compliant with all SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) legislation and school policies.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and external agencies.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to staff within the centre.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and well-being of pupils, implementing interventions where needed.
  • Promote inclusion across the school and act as a champion for pupils with ASD.

About you:

  • The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and experienced teacher (or have QTS) with a strong understanding of efficient and effective ASD and SEND practices.

You will have:

  • Proven experience working with pupils with ASD in a secondary school or specialist provision.
  • A strong track record of leadership and team management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant SEND legislation and frameworks, including EHCPs and IEPs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., SENCO, teaching qualifications, or specialist ASD training) are desirable but not essential.
