Assistant Caretaker job summary

The Mount Stewart Schools Federation is seeking a dedicated Assistant Caretaker to join our vibrant team. This role is pivotal in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across our schools, ensuring that both staff and students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the security of school premises, including locking/unlocking buildings, operating alarm systems, and conducting regular security checks.
  • Assist in the upkeep of school premises, undertaking minor repairs, cleaning duties, and maintaining outdoor spaces.
  • Support the organisation and movement of furniture and manage the orderly storage of supplies.
  • Play a pivotal role in emergency procedures and contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school.

We’re Looking For Someone With:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and Level 1 Safeguarding awareness.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, legionella, and asbestos testing.
  • Competency in communication, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Flexibility to assist with extracurricular lettings and occasional weekend duties.
