Assistant Centre Leader - Dovedale job summary
James Brindley is a stand-alone Academy based in a wide variety of locations across the City of Birmingham. In the course of a school year we educate over 3,000 pupils for periods ranging from a few days in hospital to several years in one of our teaching centres. The majority of our pupils have complex medical needs and many have been out of education for a significant period of time prior to joining the school.
We offer a full-time curriculum to young people from EYFS to KS5 and our aim is always to enable them to ‘close the gap’ and make outstanding progress during the time they are with us. This is an excellent time to join James Brindley as the Academy continues to implement a revised strategic vision developed by staff, governors and other stakeholders following the successful January 2017 Ofsted Inspection when we were judged to be GOOD in all aspects. Many of our pupils have gaps in their education and we strive to implement creative teaching strategies to reduce the impact of educational disadvantage, enabling all our pupils to access learning and make progress.
You should be passionate about developing and supporting the needs of the whole child and committed to enabling all pupils to achieve their potential.
The role involves assisting the Centre Leader in the leadership and management of operational functions in the Centre as well as overseeing the delivery of a high quality educational programme and to monitor pupil progress. We are looking for a qualified teacher with tenacity, positivity and experience of teaching. You should have QTS and a track record as a consistently good practitioner along with successful experience of leadership and management.
Closing date: 27th June 2022 Midday
