What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Curriculum Leader for Science to join our team at Manchester Enterprise Academy. This is a permanent, full time role starting Easter 2023.

The right candidates will :

  • know that teachers make the difference and that the quality of learning is paramount;
  • possess excellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults;
  • be able to motivate and inspire students and colleagues to achieve exceptional outcomes through continuous improvement.

This is a middle management post. In addition to those professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers in the school, the post holder’s key responsibilities will be for supporting the Curriculum Leader in raising the standards of teaching, learning and student achievement in the subject area.

The post holder will also deputise for the Curriculum Leader when necessary and will take responsibility for areas of departmental work as agreed with the Curriculum Leader and Senior Leader.

The post holder will be expected to match the characteristics described in the DfE Teaching Standards and will be required to exercise his/her professional skills and judgement to carry out, in a collaborative manner, their professional duties.

Key relationships:

Senior Leaders, Curriculum Leaders, all teaching and support staff across the Trust.
