What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an Assistant Curriculum Leader to join our successful maths department from September 2024 or sooner.
The position would suit an experiencedteacher with excellent qualifications who can demonstrate a strong ambition to support the improvement of our provision.
The ethos of the department is one of teamwork, engagement and high expectations. We are seeking someone with a love of maths and a firm belief in the Mastery approach who can inspire our students. In return you will receive high quality, comprehensive CPD and support to coach and guide you through any continued professional development.
The Mathematics department is one of our highest-performing departments; it is highly collaborative, forward-thinking, creative, innovative, and supportive of change and new approaches. As such, they were one of the earliest schools to join the Ark Maths Mastery Programme, which concentrates on professional development alongside comprehensive curriculum resources. This has supported the team in developing mathematical fluency among students, improving confidence and enjoyment of mathematics. You will be well supported to ensure consistency and challenge within your lesson and with your professional development.
As an ACL the successful candidate will work alongside the curriculum leader and another ACL to lead the department. It is a very collaborative department and supportive of the need to have consistency of approach and language. resources are co-constructed and reviewed regularly. They are available to all on a shared drive. Weekly quality of education meetings supports consistency and ongoing professional development of all members of the department. CPD is delivered by all during these sessions.
