What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join the Education Alliance’s central finance team, working across schools in Hull and the East Riding, with a base next door to South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College, East Dale Road, Melton.
We are a growing trust with around 1,000 staff across ten sites in the Hull and East Riding region. The salary details above are for a full-time, throughout the year position, however, if you are interested in working on a part time basis and/or term-time, please get in touch and we are happy to explore this with you.

You will be working closely with senior leaders, Headteachers and finance colleagues across the trust and your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Financial planning, control and management
- Financial due diligence on any school’s joining the trust
- Purchasing/ordering/procurement
- Asset control
- Audit services
- Financial monitoring
Collaborating with senior leaders from a range of professions and backgrounds, you will inform and guide financial decisions and planning across our schools.

Further details about the role
You will be a qualified accountant with an up to date knowledge of the Companies Act, Charities SORP, VAT and PAYE/NIC regulations and experience of preparing management accounts.
The role includes all aspects of finance and you will have experience of analysing, interpreting and utilising financial data to enable evidence based financial decisions to be made. Audit is a key aspect of the role and you must have experience of producing reports and information for auditors and dealing with their queries.

The Education Alliance Multi-Academy Trust was established in 2015 so that South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College could support the setting up of Hunsley Primary School, the East Riding’s first Free School. In February 2016, Malet Lambert School, an 11-16 school in Hull, joined the trust and the following year, Driffield School and Sixth Form joined as a sponsored academy. The Snaith School, an 11-16 school joined us in April 2019 and North Cave CE Primary School in November 2019. Howden Junior School joined us October 2022 followed by Wilberfoss CE Primary School in May 2023. Howden CE Infant School joined us in September 2023 followed by Naburn CE Primary School who joined on 1 October as a sponsored academy.
In addition to the ten schools, the trust also operates Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, the only Outstanding SCITT based in East Yorkshire, which is training a new generation of primary and secondary teachers in East Riding and Hull.
