Assistant Food Technician job summary
Millthorpe School is seeking to recruit an Assistant Food Technician to provide a support service to the Design Technology department, enabling a safe and well equipped environment for practical work that will support the teaching of Food Technology to all pupils.
The successful candidate will be working independently, in a department with a well-resourced room. The role will involve ensuring that classrooms are equipped and prepared for lessons (including the preparation of materials that may be required for demonstrations or practical work), maintaining appropriate levels of materials/resources, and cleaning and maintaining apparatus and equipment where necessary.
The person we are looking for will have a practical understanding of health and safety legislation, first aid, risk assessments and safe manual handling techniques.
Good interpersonal skills are required, together with an organised and methodical approach, and the ability to establish and maintain effective and supportive working relationships with staff and students.
