Assistant Head for Improving Achievement and Standards job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious senior leader to shape how our school moves forward.
Having arisen due to internal promotion, this is an
excellent opportunity to provide strategic leadership and direction for
Achievement and Standards while building on high expectations and a history
of strong leadership. There will be a particular focus on enabling high
quality learning through effective data analysis and direction and support
for staff, as well as designing and monitoring intervention strategies to
support disadvantaged learners.
The successful candidate will have the support of the Trust and specifically the Headteacher and also the Director of Learning Michael McCluskie.
Our new Assistant Headteacher will be responsible for:
- Improving Achievement and Standards, setting high expectations for students and staff in line with the school’s motto of ‘being the best that we can be’.
- Ensuring high quality learning is consistently experienced by students through effective monitoring, evaluation and review of progress and provision.
- Evaluating the school’s performance against national and local criteria, ensuring whole school data is collected and effectively analysed to inform whole school improvement strategies.
- Designing strategies to narrow the achievement gap for our disadvantaged learners.
- Planning effective intervention strategies for underperforming students.
- Working with the SENCO to ensure that our students with SEND are given every opportunity to achieve to the best of their ability.
- Managing the school’s Pupil Premium budget and use this funding to ensure that the achievement of disadvantaged students matches that of their peers.
- Developing effective Raising Standards strategies and implementing across middle leadership.
- Overseeing an effective whole school rewards strategy.
