Assistant Head job summary

Endeavour Federation are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant Headteacher preferably with prior experience in a leadership role for our Castlefield Campus. As part of our welcoming team, you will enthuse and motivate students to strive for success while maintaining a healthy learning environment for all children within the school. The role will involve overseeing Personal Development and Careers and teaching Functional Skills English and Maths to build on the relational approach to learning to improve the pupils success. 


Roles

-          To lead and manage the Personal Development area of the curriculum. Including PSHE and Careers.

-          To manage and deliver English and Maths Functional Skills English and Maths.

-          To line manage teachers.

-          To line manage any ECT’s.

-          To contribute to the development and delivery of Federation Visions and Values.

-          To be a role model to all staff demonstrating positive leadership behaviours, confidentiality and discretion.

 

Key Responsibilities

-          Support and challenge colleagues using assessment data to promote students progress in PSHE and set ambitious targets.

-          To ensure appropriate support and interventions are put in place, as necessary, to secure pupil outcomes;

-          To ensure pupils experience continuity of learning and effective progression to maximise their social emotional and academic potential;

-          To line manage some teaching staff including any ECT’s.

 

Leading and Managing Staff

 

·        To line manage staff as outlined in the accountability framework so as to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum, in line with school policies, and securing high quality

teaching and learning throughout and across the subjects;

·        To carry out appraisals of staff so as to secure outstanding academic performance and effectively plan and deliver professional development activities to promote high quality

teaching and learning.

 

Effective Deployment of Staff and Resources

 

·        To participate in the recruitment and deployment of teaching and support staff;

·        To deploy accommodation effectively to meet teaching and learning needs, including those for individual pupils and ensure accommodation promotes high quality teaching and

learning;

·        To participate in arrangements made in accordance with the Regulations for the appraisal of staff.

 

Quality Assurance

 

·        To monitor and evaluate your own performance;

·        To effectively implement appropriate quality control systems;

·        To monitor the work of teachers and ensure evaluative reports are produced in line with the schools evaluation policy.


Start Date: This is an urgent requirement; however, the joining date will be subject to the completion of pre-employment checks.


Salary: Salary is based on the skills and previous experience and will be decided after the interview.


Castlefield Campus

Castlefield Campus is a Special School for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. We have recently expanded our provision and now have a brand-new building which has been designed to deliver our therapeutic vision.
