What skills and experience we're looking for

We wish to appoint an experienced teacher to the post of Assistant Head of School – Transition and Inclusion from September 2024.

The successful candidate will:

  • have demonstrable experience of leading and managing a team;

  • work in partnership with the Head(s) of School and the Senior Leadership Team to raise standards of achievement for all;
  • have a clear focus on ensuring high quality education for all our children;
  • have effective communication skills and able to develop strong working relationships with staff, pupils, families and extended partners;
  • be an outstanding classroom practitioner with an excellent record of enabling all children to make accelerated progress and able to lead others to this same success.

What the school offers its staff

Prendergast Primary School is part of Prendergast Ladywell School, an all-through school from EYFS to Year 11. The primary phase benefits from a purpose built primary building, as well as a stunning outdoor space which includes specifically designed play areas for Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, as well as the school's own Nature Reserve. The school is fortunate to be one of the only primary schools in Lewisham to have its own Teaching Kitchen classroom.
