An exciting opportunity has arisen to join St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School as Assistant Head: Safeguarding & Welfare. We are seeking a conscientious and committed colleague to contribute to the continuing development of St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School and to lead on and manage, Safeguarding & Welfare across the school. This is an exciting new role within an expanding leadership team.

As the named Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated Teacher for boys in the care of the Local Authority, you will be an essential part of the Leadership Team, and play a key role in shaping the future of our school, especially for those most vulnerable pupils. Experience of both pastoral and academic leadership is essential combined with the energy and vision to improve academic and pastoral outcomes for our boys. You will also play a key role in developing our Catholic curriculum, PSHE and RSE programme working closely with the Assistant Head for Catholic Life. As a practising Catholic you will bring a deep understanding of the key principles that underpin our distinctive vision, mission and values.

We shall appoint a leader who has vision, passion, and energy. A leader who is not afraid of change and is always looking for ways in which the school can improve. The successful applicant will be an outstanding teacher, in any discipline, who can analyse educational developments, determine what is appropriate for our pupils and staff, and successfully implement change. The successful applicant will also have experience of all aspects of Safeguarding & Welfare ideally as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL.
