This is an exciting opportunity to join our Academy, where putting students first is part of our fundamental culture. We strongly believe that positive outcomes for our students come from the professionalism, commitment and passion for excellence displayed by our staff.
You will either be an existing SENDCo wishing to step up to a senior leadership role as Assistant Head Teacher for Inclusion or an existing Middle or Senior Leader who would like to train to become a SENDco.
Experience in either Primary or Secondary schools would be most welcome, although applications from colleagues in other settings will be considered equally. Essentially, we are seeking aptitude, experience and adaptability and the determination to advocate for all children experiencing social, emotional, behavioural or learning challenges at all ages from 3-16.
Due to the all-through nature of the school, this role is anticipated to be a varied and exciting one with opportunities for innovation particularly at the key points of transition. It will take a highly motivated and astute colleague to align the inclusion practices across both primary and secondary phases and manage the associated workflows. This person will also be expected to play a key role in leading the professional development of our colleagues to support them in delivering the best teaching and support for our students.
We welcome visits to the school and will endeavour to share some of the ways we support and value our staff here at the Academy and more widely within the Bridgwater College Trust. You may feel you want to join us in making a significant contribution to narrowing the gap in achievement for our students and enabling young people to feel the exhilaration of going ‘beyond their best’.
As an employee with the Trust, you can expect to receive:
Employee Rewards scheme – High Street discounts, Staff Wellbeing centre
A Trust wide leadership competencies framework
A professional leadership development coach
Personalised professional development supported by an exceptional team within the Academy and driven through The Continual Professional Growth Policy which replaces appraisal and pay progression.
Although this role is advertised as full-time, we are open to discussing flexible working options
