Assistant Head Teacher job summary
Following the promotion of the current postholder, Glebe School will be seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and dynamic senior leader. This a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and ambitious individual to join the team following the school’s ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted grade, under the new framework, in December 2019.
We are seeking a colleague who has a true passion for teaching and who has the charisma and character to lead the staff in the very best learning strategies for students with special educational needs. Glebe School has a rich tradition of very strong working partnerships with schools and continuing this collaboration is critical to the role. Any candidate applying must be self-driven, team orientated, reflective and also have staff wellbeing in mind.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead, monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning and assessment
• Lead, monitor and evaluate the personal development of pupils
• Lead on developing the curriculum and wider curriculum innovation, including lunch-time offer
• Responsibility for leading and evaluating Literacy and Numeracy across the curriculum
• Responsible for reporting on the impact of Pupil Premium spending
• Oversee and report on interventions for all key stages
• To oversee all aspects of exams management within the School, Years 7-11
• Develop School working parties to include staff and obtain development plan aims
• Teach subject specialism or other subjects depending on curriculum demands
• Support staff with matters of student behaviour and discipline and implement the school's safeguarding policies
• Leading and coordinating School accreditations
• Work closely with the Careers Officer to coordinate a work skills program for all pupils
• Develop new partnerships with a range of stakeholders
• Ensure the effective use of School resources and the efficient deployment of staff
• Line manage Heads of Department and Teachers
• Contribute positively to the appointment, deployment and development of staff to make most effective use of their skills, expertise and experience and to ensure that all staff have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities.
• Embed an exciting, relevant and inclusive CPD program for all staff
• Responsibility for leading the School’s pupil and staff wellbeing strategy
