Further details about the role

The Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Being a member of the Headship team (with Co-Heads and Deputy) and working with governors to set the strategic direction of the school and continuously drive school improvement
  • Enabling staff to carry out their roles effectively, providing support, guidance and training as required
  • Leading on and implementing the school’s strategy for inclusion and creating the best possible environment, policies and practice for all to thrive (including those with protected characteristics and those who may be classified as disadvantaged or vulnerable)
  • Working closely with the school’s SENCO and Nurture team to ensure inclusive teaching practice and the best outcomes for all children
  • Promoting a robust safeguarding culture within the school and maintaining effective child protection procedures, this includes fulfilling all the requirements of the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead. (Note: We can provide training, guidance and support for candidates new to the role of DSL)
  • Taking the lead on specific aspects of school development as required
