Mossbrook is a maintained primary special school where staff have the knowledge and skills to meet the needs ofpupils aged four to eleven years old with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Working closely with the governing body, you will shape the vision and strategic direction of the school as we build upon our existing successes and negotiate a changing educational landscape. You will be supported by a skilled and committed staff team. We are looking for an aspirational and collaborative assistant headteacher who will:
- Continue to ensure that Mossbrook is an outward facing school, with strong and effective links with the LA and our other partners and stakeholders
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes wellbeing and personal growth for both students and staff
- Ensure high-quality teaching and learning throughout the school
- have experience and expertise in the field of Autism
- remain resilient and positive when faced with challenges
- make a real difference to the lives of children and their families
- Be committed to providing an outstanding education for primary aged children

You will:
- Support the daily secure and smooth running of the school, taking responsibility for the site in the absence of the headteacher and deputy headteacher
- Be responsible for the day to day running of a department within the school
- Lead at least one curriculum subject and team
- Work with the nurture and behaviour lead in school, ensuring empathic and trauma informed practice
- Support the curriculum and assessment development throughout school
- Model good practice throughout school by developing positive relationships with staff and children, supporting training and development and demonstrating high quality teaching
- Lead the annual review process for your department
- Support with or lead on pupil voice and school council
- Support with or lead on improving the physical environment of the school
