Inspiring a passion is a real driver for us at All Saints. We seek to inspire a love of something in all children. We have our Arts Mark Award and believe that art, dance and music are vital parts of a child’s education. We use the Kapow to deliver music and have NMPAT deliver First Access project to children. Sport and physical activity is also highly valued with children having allocated PE days. We use Real PE and have a dedicated highly trained member of staff who delivers this across eth school for PPA purposes.
A large proportion of our learning – Science, History, Geography, DT, Art is delivered through the Cornerstones curriculum. We follow White Rose for Maths. For English we have embedded Sounds write as our Phonics scheme, have kinetic letters for handwriting and just over a year ago started on the journey with Talk for Writing.
Mental health and wellbeing are very important and highly valued not only for the children but staff and parents. The Headteacher is the Senior Mental Health Lead and is trained in Mental Health Adult and Youth First Aid. We work hard as a school to manage workload and have activities throughout the year for staff to build and maintain morale. We value staff members being able to participate in family activities outside of work and support staff to attend events such as weddings, appointments and children’s activities at school.
The school organisation
We are extremely proud of our inclusive, inspiring and creative oversubscribed school. We have 30 wonderful children in each of our 7 classes.
We also have a nursery accommodating 52 children aged 3 with their 15 hour entitlement, with 26 children in the morning and the same in the afternoon.
As a one form entry school we have a family feel to our environment and everyone works together closely in a very supportive way.
The Leadership consists of the Head Teacher, one other Assistant Head Teacher who works three days, an Early Years Lead who works four days a week and a fulltime class based Inclusion lead. Our School Business Manager also takes part in many aspects of the leadership team.
The facilities of the school comprise of:
Facilities are arranged over three floors. Firstly there is a hall, which provides a focus for assemblies, indoor P.E. and whole school functions. It accommodates the school at lunchtime which sees the whole school sit down and enjoy a mixture of hot meals and packed lunches. There is a kitchen area housed to one side of the hall which produces the hot school meals.
There is a very large well-resourced Nursery and Reception area which have an extensive shared outside learning environment. This whole space including the rest of the ground floor was destroyed by a flood in August 2020 and has been refurbished. The existing team have been able to design the spaces to work with the new EYFS curriculum and to promote play and continuous provision not only in the EYFS but in Year 1. The outdoor area has recently received a substantial amount of funding in order to transform this space.
The rest of the school is spread over the ground floor and first floor with children housed in modern well equipped classrooms. We have used Google Classroom for over five years and our children in Years 4, 5 and 6 all have their own devices to work on, with many others spread across the other year groups. All planning etc is through the google platform making it easily accessible.
We have our Arts Mark Award and believe that art, dance and music are vital parts of a child’s education
