Fantastic Opportunity for Experienced Primary Teacher Wishing to Develop Leadership Skills
Seven Mills is a friendly, child centred, forward thinking, fully inclusive single-form entry primary school in a vibrant East London community located just five minutes walk from Canary Wharf. Seven Mills truly believes that every child has the ability to achieve their full potential in all areas of the curriculum, and as the new Assistant Headteacher you will support our whole school ethos to foster this.
In order to sustain the school’s leadership capacity for future years, governors wish to appoint a new Assistant Headteacher. The successful applicant will have a real passion and expertise for teaching and learning, and will contribute to the leadership team’s ongoing work to ensure teaching and learning is of the highest quality. We currently have a curriculum that is stimulating, engaging and meaningful, which will be supported and enhanced by the successful candidate.
The Assistant Headteacher will have a class responsibility with a 0.8 teaching commitment as well as developing and leading a core curriculum area.
Our ideal candidate will be an excellent class practitioner with a range of experiences across the primary phase. As a model of excellence in the classroom, the Assistant Headteacher will be creative and reflective while open to challenging themselves with new ideas and approaches to pedagogy. This will also mean they can identify areas for improvement, and lead and support colleagues with their continuing development.
At Seven Mills, we have children, families and a community whom we value and who play an integral part in our day-to-day life. The roles we undertake go way beyond the classroom walls and the new Assistant Headteacher will be instrumental in moving Seven Mills forward in its next chapter.
We are committed to the professional development of all staff, and this would be an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their leadership skills within a stable and supportive environment. As a small school we are very much ‘all hands to the pump’, and all members of the leadership team understand and contribute to our whole school vision.
Completed applications should be submitted using the Tower Hamlets application form posted on the school website. Supporting statements should refer to the person specification and should be no longer that 2 sides of A4 in Gill Sans font size 11.
