Assistant Headteacher - Designated Safeguarding Lead job summary
The Role
As Assistant Headteacher (Designated Safeguarding Lead), you will be joining the school at an exciting time. We have used the unique opportunity of significant change in SLT to cast our fresh eyes on the school and look at how we can further develop an existing great school into an even better one!
Should you apply and be successful, you will be joining a team which is committed to excellence in all that it undertakes and is at the forefront of the changes in the educational landscape. The successful candidate would be adding their experience, leadership and knowledge to an existing excellent team.
This is a very important role for the school, and you will be joining a committed SLT team alongside an excellent team of professionals at the core of safeguarding. Our onsite team is impressive: three deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads, a full time paediatric nurse, two counsellors (equivalent of full-time role and 1 day), a qualified counsellor in a pastoral role and a full team of non-teaching staff heads of year.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced professional who can strategically lead safeguarding and colleagues in the school with credibility and gravitas. You will be someone who has interest and experience in safeguarding and can hit the ground running. In return, you will benefit from working within a forward thinking, creative and dynamic strategic leadership team providing you with whole school experience and opportunities to develop your career as you may be close to progressing to a deputy headteacher role.
TGGS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References will be taken up for all shortlisted applicants, and the successful candidate will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service and other employment checks.
