Are you an ambitious KS2 teacher looking for senior leadership?

Caroline Haslett is a large school with a small school ethos, and personal touch, with an excellent track record of developing future leaders. Our children enjoy coming to school and this enables the teachers and support staff to plan and teach in an exciting way.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious leader with the desire to help lead our outstanding school as we embark on the next stage of our journey to further educational excellence.

You will display an authenticity that builds trust and maintains excellent relationships with others. You will offer thoughtful and considered contributions to whole school leadership and be able to drive forward improvement in your areas of whole school responsibility through intentional , methodical implementation, and effective evaluation of impact. You will strike the very careful balance between offering highly effective support and development to those that you lead, alongside providing rigorous challenge and accountability.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the school - in cooperation with other members of the SLT, and under the direction of the Headteacher
  • Support the vision, ethos and policies of the school and promote high levels of achievement
  • Support the creation and implementation of the School Development Plan within the national and local context, and to take sole responsibility for appropriately delegated aspects of it
  • Be experienced in rigorous tracking and monitoring of children’s progress
  • Be an excellent communicator, with a strong commitment to working in partnership with children, parents, governors and the community
  • Have a teaching commitment alongside designated leadership time each week
  • Have the ability to lead, motivate, challenge and support staff to achieve their best
  • Be able to lead on whole school initiatives and be responsible for a key curriculum area
  • Have a proven leadership and management skills as a team leader or equivalent
  • Be an experienced class teacher who can demonstrate a record of success in accelerating children's progress
  • Be committed to the principles of inclusion and diversity across all areas of school life
  • Work sensitively and collaboratively alongside colleagues to embed high quality teaching and learning, supporting with planning, lesson delivery and assessment
  • Understand that children are young people with personalities, not numbers, or data
  • Believe that teaching and learning should be fun
