Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and Safeguarding
The fundamental core task of the Assistant Headteacher/Inclusion Leader is to take the lead on and ensure that the needs of all vulnerable children including, but not limited to, SEN, EAL, Disadvantaged, CP and CLA, are met to a high standard. In doing so: staff should be supported, developed and challenged; provision should be planned for and evaluated, and children and adults should live and breathe aspirational inclusive practice.
Inclusion including SENCO, EAL, Disadvantaged, Vulnerable, Safeguarding & Child Protection Lead (DSL), Attendance, and Children who are Looked After Lead.
Essential educational requirements
NASENCO Qualification (or commitment to attaining within 12 mths)
Designated Safeguarding Lead Certificate (or commitment to attaining within 12 mths)
Evidence of CPD focused on Inclusion aspects
Essential skills and experience
Teaching for at least 4 years in Primary
Teaching in at least 2 different year groups
Dealing with Safeguarding issues
Leading staff beyond own classroom
