For September, we are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion (and SENDCo) who will champion our vision of inclusive excellence, driving forward our provision for SEND and ensuring equity for all learners.

Edward Betham is a two-form entry multicultural Church of England Voluntary Aided School situated in Greenford, West London. Founded two hundred and forty-five years ago, we are a good school with high expectations of all our learners, seeking to appoint a leader who demonstrates vision, motivation and the ability to inspire us.

To join us on our learning journey you will:

  • be an exemplary classroom practitioner with a passion for learning
  • play a key role in shaping and implementing our inclusion strategy, supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and ensuring that all pupils have access to high-quality education
  • lead on EHCP processes, intervention strategies, and multi-agency working with external specialists such as Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists
  • take responsibility for Pupil Premium
  • provide high-quality training and professional development for staff on inclusive teaching strategies and SEND best practice
  • work closely in partnership with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher to develop a strategic view for the school, analyse and plan for its future needs and further development
  • have a clear vision and commitment to inclusive education and be supportive of our Christian values and ethos

Edward Betham School is a two-form entry Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School maintained by the London Borough of Ealing. We currently have 414 pupils on roll (including 35 Nursery places). The school is located on a split-site in Oldfield Lane South on the south side of the Western Avenue (A40) within a short walking distance of a number of bus and underground routes.
