Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion job summary

We have a hard working, committed and supportive staff team and you will join our dedicated and dynamic SLT. We are looking for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and can be a motivational leader of this team. You will be an inspirational teacher and have a proven track record of strong outcomes for all children.
Accountable for the strategic direction and development of inclusion, under the direction of the headteacher. This role is not class based but has a 50% teaching commitment which includes teaching specific groups.
• Provide senior leadership in the inclusion strand of the school with overall responsibility for special educational needs, higher performing pupils, free school meals/pupil premium, English as an additional language (EAL) and safeguarding including e-safety.
• Support strategic development of the school ensuring the best outcomes for all children.
• Support the creation and implementation of the school strategic plan.
• Have line management responsibility for teaching assistants, SENCo, midday supervisors, pastoral team and the extended school staff.
• Inspire, challenge and motivate others.
• Promote effective communication between other colleagues, the leadership team, the specialist Communication and Interaction Needs (COIN) centre and governors
• Participate in, and influence, school decision making

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure with a children's barred list check and will need to complete, satisfactorily, a childcare (disqualification) regulation, staff declaration form.
