Orchard and Shepherdswell Academy are looking for an Assistant Headteacher, who could lead on Teaching and learning across both schools and is willing to provide teaching cover across all key stages, in particular leading intervention in year 6 with dedicated time to complete the role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career and be a part of the SLT to continue to drive sustained improvement.


We are looking for someone who shares our vision and ethos to join our amazing team. The successful candidate should hold qualified teacher status and have led a subject or initiative across the whole school. They should have a sound knowledge of inclusion and best practice. They should have had experience of teaching across the key stages and be willing to support both the children and staff at Orchard and Shepherdswell Academy to be the best they can be, by leading and being part of the team, and supporting staff to develop a range of knowledge and skills to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of all pupils. They should also have had experience of a using coaching model to improve teaching and learning. They must also have a clear understanding of safeguarding and be prepared to become a DSL.


Shepherdswell is a two-form entry infant school and Orchard is a three-form junior school, both on the Springfield Estate in Milton Keynes, with a twenty pupil place social communication department at Orchard Academy for pupils in EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
