What skills and experience we're looking for

This is a full-time permanent position. We welcome applicants from either selective or wide ability settings, who share our thinking that effective collaboration is the best route to outstanding achievement, and who will have an unremitting focus on high-quality learning, teaching and leadership required to support and move forward the aims of the Norton Knatchbull School as espoused in our Mission Statement and in our curriculum thinking.

The successful applicant will have the drive and passion to lead and accelerate improvement, a track record of success and bring a level of focus, precision and rigour that will have a substantial and sustained impact. Improvement will be based on an unswerving focus on the quality of education, leading our development of curriculum thinking and teaching, learning and assessment with a strong commitment to collaboration within and beyond NKS.

As well as being an excellent classroom teacher and tutor, applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of planning, leading and embedding effective change within schools, strategic improvement planning, effective working with a Governing body and team leadership.

In addition to leadership of the Sixth Form, the role will enable the successful candidate to take on whole school strategic responsibilities suited to their skills, interests and experience commensurate with the role of Assistant Headteacher. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and innovative Senior Leadership Team, looking to continue to build on the progress secured over the last few years reflected in our recent Ofsted report.
