What skills and experience we're looking for
At Headley Park Primary School, our mission is to ensure thateverypupil leaves our school with the ability and desire to learn more, unlock their potential and make their mark in the world.Due to the creation of a new leadership role, we are looking to appoint a highly motivated Assistant Headteacher to join our ambitious senior leadership team and help us achieve our aim.
Key duties:
The successful candidate will:
- Lead the pastoral team
- Take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL) and lead the Safeguarding team (made up of other staff who act as Deputy DSLs)
- Be responsible for attendance and behaviour across the school
- The role will involve a teaching responsibility, which is likely to be two days of PPA cover per week.

- Has enthusiasm, integrity and presence as well as excellent communication and organisational skills

Behaviour is fully supported by a responsive SLT.
Curriculum
- Our fully sequenced, cumulative curriculum is underpinned by detailed schemes of work and additional resources to support the planning and delivery of excellent lessons.
Instructional Coaching
- All our teachers are entitled to fortnightly instructional coaching sessions using the Steplab professional learning platform.
Steplab Hub
- We are a Steplab Hub School meaning we help other schools prepare for their instructional coaching journey by sharing our expertise.
Support Staff
- We have a team of highly skilled support staff who work alongside teachers in every year group.
