Thank you for your interest in the role at Unity Primary Academy.
Our school is situated within the Greenstead Estate of Colchester with close links to the University of Essex, Colchester Borough Council as well as Essex County Council as well as our cluster Reach2 schools. We are proud of our achievements to date, and we are continually seeking to invest in the futures of our pupils and families. We are embarking on a journey of excellence and have the highest aspirations and expectations of our pupils and families, and we create opportunities to become lifelong learners.
Here at Unity, we believe in giving every child, every chance, every day, and approach this by ensuring we keep the REAch2 Touchstones at the heart of our child centered work. The school is well resourced and has extensive grounds that allow us to provide varied learning experiences to engage and motivate our children and the school has recently been awarded a Learning Outside the Classroom Silver Award and we engage with organisations such as the Countrywide Trust to bring learning to life. We are also investing in our outdoor provision and are creating additional opportunities to learn life skills and thrive wherever possible.
Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum, and we implemented CUSP which is connected, cumulative and coherent. Our curriculum is underpinned by evidence, research, and cognitive science. Modules are deliberately sequenced for robust progression and allows teachers to focus on the lesson. This coupled with the REAch2 11 before 11 promises, a set of 11 experiences we believe all children should have the opportunity to participate in before they are aged 11, allow us to strive towards providing exceptional opportunities for learning. We are also extremely proud of our Thrive provision and pastoral care within the school, which is adding significant value to the lives of our pupils and families.
We would welcome your application.
