College Hall PRU is no ordinary educational setting, something all our young people pick up on straight away. We are expanding our provision and are seeking an inspirational Assistant Headteacher who is passionate about making a difference. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Assistant Headteacher who will support the Head Teacher in leading College Hall by joining the Schools successful Leadership Team during this exciting time of expansion and progress. The successful candidate will bring their leadership experience, operational and strategic abilities and extensive knowledge of SEND to the role. They will also be a skilled SEND practitioner, modelling and understanding excellent classroom practice. They will have the ability to engage pupils with a complex range of SEND, including SEMH and a clear commitment to improving pupil outcomes. They will have an understanding of a trauma informed and attachment aware approach to working with pupils. Our pupils have often experienced significant life challenges and have unmet needs. Strong relationships and empathy are at the heart of everything we do. When pupils join us, they are welcomed by flexible and caring staff who understand that all behaviour is a form of communication and who will help them to develop emotional resilience. This role will include: • Special Educational Needs Coordinator. • Inclusion Lead. The postholder will work collaboratively with the Safeguarding Lead in managing safeguarding issues. You will be a crucial aspect of the multi-agency team that ensures our pupils are safeguarded. The successful candidate will: • Have experience of leadership within a school. • A strong understanding of trauma and attachment aware approaches in schools. • Have experience of safeguarding procedures within a school. • Have up to date knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and principles around EHC Plan processes. • Be an outstanding teacher, who is able coach and mentor new staff. • Have the vision and skills to support the Headteacher with the school’s journey of continuous improvement. • Be passionate about improving outcomes for students and to ensure all students reach their potential. • Be dedicated to the inclusion of students with SEND in education and society as a whole. College Hall is a pupil referral unit serving Bracknell Forest and the surrounding area. The unit has 56 full time places for young people in Key Stages 3 and 4 who have experienced difficulty in maintaining a place in mainstream education. Through providing a safe and secure environment, an experienced and supportive staff team, a flexible curriculum and proactive working with schools, parents and carers, we aim to get these young people back on track. College Hall also provides an Outreach Service to local mainstream schools, supporting young people to maintain their placement and is also responsible for the delivery of One-to-one tuition on behalf of Bracknell Forest Local Authority.
