We are looking for someone with the skills, experience and determination to lead on the strategic direction and development of SEN and EAL provision in the school, including our Shine Resource Base. Staff are provided with a laptop, and many have their own classrooms. We encourage community spirit and staff involvement through various social events, recent ones being “tea on the terrace” in the summer term, an orienteering event, murder mystery and cooking competitions, sports after school and a Furze Platt fantasy football league. You will be joining us at an exciting time as we have just opened a state-of-the-art three-storey teaching block incorporating science laboratories, classrooms, additional staff rooms and a meeting room. We have also recently opened a new hall/theatre that has provided the school with additional indoor and outdoor space. We are proud that the local community are also able to use these facilities.

We also believe passionately in music, drama, the arts and sport and have a Dance studio, two Drama studios, a recording studio and practice rooms and an all-weather astro-turf to support these. NQTs are allocated a mentor, a reduced timetable and the opportunity to attend training sessions run by specialists from within the school. There are excellent on-site facilities including use of a fully equipped and well-maintained gym, a café serving hot food and freshly made snacks and staff rooms with plenty of working space, your own laptop, student laptops and interactive whiteboards. As well as access to an employee advice service providing information, helpful resources and other services, we are finding ways of maintaining our community spirit and staff involvement through socially distanced initiatives, current examples being our first on-line book club, and a Furze Platt fantasy football league.
