Heron Park Primary Academy is a rapidly improving, vibrant two form entry primary school with a nursery serving an Eastbourne community and we would welcome your interest in this exciting opportunity for aspirant or proven senior leaders.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher responsible for Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team from 1st September 2022. This leadership role is designed to meet the Welfare and SEND needs of the school community.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful leadership, who possesses the ability both to inspire children and colleagues and to actively contribute to our continued improvement.
We are seeking a passionate colleague who has:
• a firmly held belief that all children can achieve the highest standards
• the highest expectations for behaviour and attitudes to learning
• Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (or as Deputy DSL)
• Experience in leading SEND provision
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• the ability to create and sustain the conditions in which colleagues can continue to deliver outstanding SEMH and SEND outcomes
• a demonstrable ability to lead teams of highly skilled staff
• the ability to use and interpret data with a high level of accuracy in order to drive school improvement

We are committed to appointing a highly proficient and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher and therefore the recruitment process will enable all applicants the chance to demonstrate their skillset. For successfully shortlisted candidates, the interview process will begin on Tuesday 24th May. The recruitment process will include a range of teaching and leadership activities and also offer you the chance to get to know our wonderful school and a variety of HPPA stakeholders.
