Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion job summary
This job is not for the faint hearted. John Mason School is going through an exciting period of improvement, and we aim to appoint a dedicated, highly motivated, and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to lead on inclusion.
Ofsted (2024) stated that leaders “understand the improvements that need to be made” and that “appropriate plans are in place to ensure the school improves pupil outcomes”. We are looking for someone who is up for the challenge, to lead change in our systems and processes, to inspire others with a “can do” attitude to ensure we are a school which improves the life chances of every learner we serve.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic and operational leadership of our inclusive provision, ensuring that our young people’s needs are identified, clearly communicated to relevant staff and that the appropriate adaptations are made in a personalised approach to the curriculum and/or classroom provision.
You will have a passion for delivering enhanced experiences and improved outcomes for students with additional and special educational needs,
You will work closely with the SENDCo to deliver a curriculum which meets the needs of all our students. As a senior leader, you will be prepared to take your share of line management and duties across the school.
You need to:
Have excellent interpersonal, organisational, leadership and managerial skills
Have the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues and other professionals
Have a strong commitment to innovative pastoral development, student support and staff development
Be able to demonstrate how your work has had a significant impact on the whole school as part of a team
Be well organized, hardworking and enthusiastic
Be an exceptional teacher with proven success of delivering excellent outcomes for students with SEND and all groups of students
Be able to support and challenge, hold colleagues to account and deliver excellent outcomes
