Witton Park Academy is part of Achievement through Collaboration Trust - an ambitious and supportive Trust, where children come first and are at the heart of all we do.
We are looking for a leader who shares our values. A leader who uses coaching as their philosophy for developing people. A leader who can support the school strategically. A leader who understands child development, SEND, behaviour and can plan a systematic, inclusive approach to the schools new inclusion centre. You may already work within alternative provision, or in a significant pastoral role in a school.
We plan to open our new inclusion centre in February 2023. You would be fully responsible for the opening of the inclusion centre including an ambitious building programme, curriculum development of the centre and appointment of staff within the centre.
Please refer to the documentation attached for an overview of the strategic development of the centre.
Initially you will be line managed by the Headteacher until the inclusion centre becomes operational. As a Senior Leader, you will also work closely with other members of the leadership team, all of whom are passionate about improving the life chances of our students, making sure that they fulfil their part in ensuring that Witton Park Academy is a school to be proud of. In addition there will be opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues in our other schools to support school improvement.
We are not looking for a specific curriculum discipline, although we would expect high quality teaching to be demonstrated at interview and in post.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated professional to join our school and make a difference to the lives of our students and the community we serve.
We encourage you to read the accompanying documentation highlighting our values, vision and culture as a school. I would also encourage you to browse our internal CPL training at the site here to give you a full flavour of how we support staff.

We offer you:
● A model of executive coaching to support you in the role
● A broad range of external CPD opportunities including NPQ qualifications, routes to becoming or sustaining a role as an SLE
● A vibrant internal CPD structure that has been identified as outstanding practice
● A role that will be supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team
Visits to the school will be available on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th May at various times throughout the day. Please also contact us if you would like a short telephone conversation regarding the role. Please email Andy Burton, Headteacher, on aburton@wittonpark.org.uk to arrange this.
To apply please indicate in your supporting document how you would lead the development of a new inclusion centre at Witton Park Academy to reduce exclusions to zero and how your leadership over the last two years has made a positive impact on pupils' progress or behaviour.
Closing date is Monday 23rd May 2022.
Interview Date is Thursday 26th May 2022.

Welcome to Witton Park Academy
Innovating… Engaging… Caring… Learning… Succeeding Together.
With pride and passion we unite our school and our local community, and lead the drive to be ‘always learning’.
We are extremely proud of our school; the achievements of our pupils, the expertise and dedication of our staff, our outstanding facilities and our reputation as a centre of excellence.
Our ultra-modern school buildings allow our pupils to flourish in facilities for learning that truly do enable us to trail blaze innovative learning – from the bright and attractive classrooms, to the fully equipped outside play areas, the facilities allow our pupils to fully explore their talents and to shine in those areas that they most enjoy.
A building, however, is only as good as the people working within; we believe we have some of the best students and teachers in the world. Staff and pupils benefit from the investment we place on their development: as well as playing a key part in supporting other schools through the Achievement through Collaboration Trust, we have a variety of external partners from Google, The Schools, Students and Teacher Network and with University College London. Partnerships like these create opportunities for all members of our team.
We understand how important choosing the right school is and so, on behalf of our pupils and staff, we warmly invite you to visit our school and experience for yourself the quality of education we offer.
