You are warmly invited to apply for the post of Assistant Headteacher and Teacher of Science within the King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham based at King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to make a real contribution to an improving academy which will see you work with and add capacity to a committed Senior Leadership Team.
As a senior leader, you will collaborate with and support the Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Quality of Education in ensuring the effective leadership of teaching and learning across the whole school. Exact responsibilities will be open to negotiation with the successful candidate taking account of the individual’s expertise, experience, interests and the needs of the academy. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, passionate and inspiring leader who may already have previous leadership experience and is keen to move into the next stage of their career in leadership.
As a Teacher of Science, you will be committed to further developing the delivery of Science within the academy. You will be an exceptional classroom practitioner with outstanding subject knowledge who can motivate pupils to achieve to their full potential and develop a love of Science. As part of your leadership post and responsibilities, this post would also include working collaboratively with the Head of Science in improving, leading and managing the effective delivery of our Science curriculum to ensure the highest levels of pupil progress and attainment in line with pupil progress responsibilities. The preferred candidate would have a specialism in either Physics or Chemistry.
