Are you an experienced and dedicated leader eager to make a real impact on teaching and learning in a vibrant primary school environment? Northumberland Heath Primary School is looking to appoint a motivated and skilled Assistant Headteacher to support the development and delivery of an inclusive and rich curriculum across all Key Stages (EYFS to KS2).
About the Role
This exciting leadership role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to shape our school’s teaching and learning culture. The successful candidate will lead on the development of high-quality teaching practices, collaborating with teachers and the leadership team to foster an environment where excellence is the standard.
- Non-Class Based Role for the rest of the Academic Year: In the first year, the role will be non-class based, allowing a full focus on supporting and developing best practices across the school.
- Class-Based Role with Leadership Release in Year 2: Transitioning to a part-time class-based role with leadership release time, enabling continued school-wide support as well as being able to model best practice for others to observe.
- Mentorship & Best Practice: Serve as a model for other staff, providing opportunities for observation, team teaching, and professional development.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, support, and empower staff to ensure consistency in teaching quality and raise standards across the school
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Drive the delivery of an inclusive and rich curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all pupils.
- Staff Development: Act as a hub of expertise, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to staff to enhance their teaching practices.
- Policy Implementation: Support the development, embedding, monitoring, and review of policies that drive strong teaching and learning outcomes.
- Teaching Standards: Work closely with the leadership team to ensure the highest quality of teaching is maintained, through training, intervention, and support.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in teaching and learning development across Key Stages (EYFS to KS2).
- Strong leadership skills, capable of inspiring and supporting staff to achieve excellence.
- A passion for providing all children with the very best learning experiences.
- Experience in policy development and implementation to drive school improvement.
