Job description


The successful candidate will play a key role in the overall leadership of the school with the post being equally suited to those seeking their first Assistant Head post or to serving Assistant Heads seeking a new challenge. The post will include wide-ranging responsibility and accountability, leading and developing other staff, monitoring and evaluation work, as well as working closely with the Trust, Governors and partner schools. Precise responsibilities will be agreed with the successful candidate, taking in to account their experience as well as the needs of the school.

• Recent participation in a range of relevant in-service training

• Experience of successful leadership of a subject/pastoral area, a team or other significant area of school life

• Experience of using and analysing a range of data to inform self-evaluation and shape development priorities
• Experience of leading or contributing to development planning
• Experience of building effective relationships with students, staff and other stakeholders
• Understanding of the importance of strategic planning
• Understanding of how to lead others effectively
• Understanding of effective strategies for raising achievement
