What skills and experience we're looking for

The headteacher and governors of this happy, caring school are seeking to appoint an Assistant Headteacher who will work closely alongside the headteacher and colleagues to support the growth and development of this school. You will be:

  • A leader with vision and experience, able to lead by example, able to motivate and inspire staff and children, whilst developing their own and others' leadership skills;
  • A practitioner who can demonstrate that they have had an impact in raising standards through high expectations;
  • Able to analyse data, the performance of pupils and pupil progress and plan appropriate actions for whole school improvement with excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
  • Someone who is determined, resilient and would work well with our newly established team;
  • An up-to-date practitioner with relevant experience of the primary phase and curriculum and a creative approach to learning
  • An outstanding and inspirational teacher who has a proven track record of high standards in their own teaching and providing high quality learning experiences for all children, especially for children with additional needs;
  • Has a willingness to support the Christian ethos of the school
  • Someone who has a warm, kind, caring, positive nature and has a sense of humour.
  • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of education, implementing the school improvement plans, developing teaching and learning, leading on curriculum areas and supporting the Headteacher in the day to day running of the school.
  • A role model to others within the team
  • This post has a teaching commitment, initially Year 3, and a key part of the role is to support the development of teaching and learning
  • Supportive team player on the SLT, and supporting the development of support staff
  • A well-organised professional
