What skills and experience we're looking for
Would you like to work in an ‘exceptional, happy and friendly school’ (Ofsted March 2023), where you can inspire our children’s love of learning? Talbot Primary is an outstanding school, and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated, inspirational teacher to lead our Key Stage One team, Phonics and Reading strategy across the school in conjunction with a supportive leadership team. Your role is firmly rooted in our school beliefs of ‘Courage, Truth and Loyalty,’ with opportunities to coach and mentor staff and lead change across our school for the benefit of our staff, children and community.
Our school is a large two form, 3-11 primary based in Roundhay. We have wonderful pupils and a hardworking, committed staff who have helped shape the school into a nurturing and vibrant educational establishment at the heart of the community. We take pride in the fact that our pupils are keen to learn, polite and exemplary in their conduct and interactions.
We require an Assistant Headteacher who:
- Is an effective classroom practitioner who can communicate well with parents and carers, children and our staff and work using their own initiative
- Has the skill to line manage colleagues exceptionally well
- Is a well-researched professional who will never back away from a challenge, who loves identifying and removing barriers and thereby making a difference
- Can lead and has the desire to coach and mentor staff to ensure the quality of our phonics and reading provision remains of the highest quality
- Believes in the potential of all children and is confident that they have the ability to support them to excel at our school
