To succeed, you must be excited by the prospect of travelling between our schools, adept at retaining and synthesising information from four unique settings, and ready to apply a wide range of transferable skills. This is not a traditional Assistant Headteacher position; it's a flexible, responsive role for a leader with proven expertise across a spectrum of relevant areas, ready to make a significant, system-wide impact.

Are you a passionate and collaborative leader ready to amplify your impact? We are seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher to join our forward-thinking school partnership. This is a unique opportunity to work across multiple schools, driving consistent improvement and fostering a shared culture of high achievement and inclusion. You will be a pivotal force in our partnership team, empowering potential and inspiring growth for every pupil. If you believe that our greatest strength lies in working together, come and make a real difference with us.

Our Partnership

The Special Provision Partnership is a dynamic collaboration between four leading specialist schools and an Alternative Provision in Yorkshire: Greenacre School, Joseph Norton Academy, Springwell Special School and Springwell Alternative Academy.

As proud partners of Wellspring Academy Trust, we are united by a single, powerful vision:

  • To make a profound difference by raising the expectations and ambitions of every young person in our care.

We support some of the region’s most brilliant and deserving children, creating nurturing and inclusive environments where they can thrive. Our teams work creatively to provide an educational offer that truly prepares our pupils for a successful and fulfilling adult life.

A Role Designed for Impact

As a Regional Assistant Headteacher, you will champion excellence and consistency across our four sites in Huddersfield and Barnsley. Your portfolio will be fluid and designed to meet the evolving needs of our partnership.

This will involve leading on a range of strategic areas, which may include:

  • School Development & Improvement

  • Curriculum & Assessment Innovation

  • Teaching & Learning Strategy

  • HR & Staff Development Initiatives

  • Building Community and External Partnerships

Some of these will be long-term strategic responsibilities, while others will be short-term, high-impact “task and finish” projects, offering you unparalleled variety and the chance to effect change where it’s needed most. Your Initial Focus From day one, you will be instrumental in driving a key strategic priority for our partnership. Your initial focus will be to support the development of our vocational curriculum, expand work experience opportunities, provide high-quality coaching and mentoring for our brilliant instructors and enhance our pupil enrichment offer.

Are You the Leader We’re Looking For?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a resilient and inspiring leader who:

  • Has a proven track record of successful senior leadership within an educational setting, ideally with experience in SEN, SEMH, or Alternative Provision.

  • Is a natural coach and mentor, passionate about developing the practice of others.

  • Thrives on variety and is a strategic thinker capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, able to build trust and foster strong collaborative relationships quickly with students, staff, and external partners.

  • Is highly adaptable, organised, and genuinely excited by the prospect of working flexibly across different school environments.

Why Choose Us?

We guarantee a rewarding and varied position where your impact will be seen every day. In return for your expertise, skill, and commitment, you will receive:

  • Unparalleled Collaboration: Work alongside a cohesive and deeply committed team of leaders and practitioners, all focused on a shared mission.

  • Strategic Influence: This unique regional role gives you a platform to influence practice and strategy at a partnership-wide level.
